This is one of the original four Ecomobiles seen on Top Gear in April 1988. In 2005 I rode this old Eco from the HQ in Winterthur, Switzerland to Brno for the 2005 World Cup. While there I drove it to Prague and back to collect my then-girlfriend Elspeth Beard from the airport. The journey back to Brno only took us 90 minutes. This is us at the entrance to the Brno paddock.
On the way back to Switzerland it clocked a GPS-registered 136mph on a German autobahn. Not bad for a 17 year old machine with BMW K100 engine! PNB
