Losing marks there...

It's a cardinal rule of special builders that you never alter the stock parts. Means that when the scrapyard engine blows up, another can be slotted straight in - and all those little bits that should be part of a Ford can be replaced, just like it was a Ford.

So I've been a bit bad here, cutting off the little ledge that Rotax thoughtfully cast into the casing so owners can hammer it off instead of forcing a screwdriver into the gap. But it's just in the way of this useful subframe tube.

And in any case, this is a stock motor in a Track Day Special. It either won't do enough miles to wear out - ot it'll get blown up. No need to ever take it apart. And I've got lots of screwdrivers anyway.
