And now, steering

Yet another set of Metro track rod ends, along with a Mercedes 123 track rod end, forced into the unnatural position of steering a single track. They'll last forever.

The Metro units are FirstLine joints (pt. No. FTR4117) and it's a new casting, substantially lighter and neater than the old OEM/Quinton Hazel/et al joints of yore. The Mercedes joint, with a male thread, which is more convenient for the top outer wishbone, is part no. FTR 4312. The pin has the the same taper angle (10:1) but it's a bit bigger

Obviously bigger and heavier than needed for this job, I've still to find anything lighter with the same angularity, weather proofing and secure mounting.

With all this stuff going in and out and up and down, this is not an area to poke fingers into!
