2 Broughs & an FF from Bonneville

None of these machines is what you might think. The two Broughs in the foreground were freshly built, from the ground up, in the 21st century, in the style of the 1930s classics.
Each old-new Brough set new records on the salt flats in 2013: the 1150 on the left in the hands of Brough enthusiast Eric Patterson, the 750 on the right in the hands of Alan Cathcart and Henry Cole,
The drawing behind them is the chief interest for this site though. It's not the original Triumph 'Texas Cigar' which went 212mph in 1956 at Bonneville (which can be seen elsewhere on this site, in all its restored glory). No this drawing is of Joe Dudek's shorter, lighter single-engined Triumph-powered streamliner which went 224.5mph in 1962 ridden by Bill Johnson. A new outright world record at the time, hence the 'Fastest Machine on Earth' strapline.
Sadly, the machine itself was subsequently destroyed, but this old drawing is much better than nothing.
It was displayed on the Brough stand of the Classic Show by Mark Upham, CEO of the new Brough Superior company.
