In honour of Colin Russell's successful maiden 'flight' in his newly acquired Ecomobile (in October 2016), I have dug out my original Swiss Missile story for the November 1989 issue of Motorcycle Sport which featured the self-same 'Mean Grean Machine' pictured in the Dolomites on this opening spread. At the time, the beast was owned by Ken Moreash, who, like the machine's creator, Arnold Wagner, was a Swissair pilot. Great to know that it's still going strong nearly 30 years after it was built!
The article was 7 pages long and there was a photo of a different Ecomobile on the cover of the magazine. Definitely a collector's item! The machines were originally known as Oekomobils, but the name had recently been anglicised to Ecomobile at the time I wrote the article. PNB
