1987 Green Eco in 1988

This 'green stripe' Ecomobile was one of the first four made. The original 'old blue machine', made in 1985, was followed in 1987 by yellow, red and this green one.
All four featured briefly in the Top Gear film, driving together, in a few seconds of 'amateur footage' that had previously been recorded by Peraves. Its first owner was Ken Moreash, a Canadian who, like Arnold Wagner himself, flew with Swissair. When Ken retired he took the Ecomobile back home to Canada with him but never succeeded in registering it for the road. After many years it was bought and brought to England by John Brennan who both revived it and then taught himself to ride it – no mean feat!
John sold it to Andy Tribble, who had many adventures in it and kindly lent it to Yours Truly on several occasions (see this folder and elsewhere on bikeweb). In 2016 Trib swapped it for Colin Russell's red Voyager and Colin boldly taught himself to ride 'The Mean Green Machine' and rode it to the 2016 Motorcycle Live show at the NEC.
In 2017, it remains one of the longest-lived and fully functioning Ecomobiles in existence and the only one on the road in the UK. PNB
