Vectrix meets Quasar! (in 2008)

2018: A SNAP OF SERENDIPITOUS SYNERGY! I recently re-discovered this ten year-old photograph in my archives. It's actually pretty historic IMHO because it captures two pioneering machines from different decades together in the same South West London motorcycle parking bay – which happened by pure coincidence: my 1980 Quasar and a late Noughties Vectrix – the world's first electric maxiscooter. And particularly relevant in 2018 since many of us here appreciate the sense of combining the best aspects of these two machines in one electric FF PTW! And remember, a modified Vectrix was ridden around the world in 80 days back in 2010-2011 alongside the Monotracer-based Designwerk Zerotracer and the Vectrix-based, Aussie-built TREV trike; see the photo I snapped of all 3 together at the finish in Geneva in February 2011, along with an interesting comment from Royce Creasey, here: http://www.bikeweb.com/node/2807

PS As a footnote, for Quasar nerds, the front wheel fitted here is a lightweight 17 inch one kindly lent me by Mark Crowson to see how I got on with it. (The standard Quasar wheels are 18inches and staggeringly heavy). It made the machine more nimble, but unfortunately it also reduced the ground clearance enough to cause my one and only crash in the machine in my five years of ownership, while doing a demo ride at Beaulieu. (No harm caused to man or machine!). PNB
