Judging by the lack of recent FF creations on display here, eveybody must be in their workshops building them...

Those at the bodywork stage will have noticed the big weakness in current protective clothing - the gap between the cuffs of the Tivek paper overalls and the latex gloves, leaving the wrist exposed to contact with uncured resin or PU. This may not be a problem for boat builders, slapping wet glass onto huge, almost flat, surfaces but it certainly is when getting up close and personal with the ducts, corners and crevices of vehicle bodywork.

Here's a solution. Cut the fingers and thumbs off a pair of the yellow gloves sold for houseworkers, univerally known as "Marigolds" in England, leaving enough to hook over the thumb and hold them in place. The long gauntlet-like cuffs easily cover the wrists and go deep under the Tivek sleeves. These gloves are too thick and insensitive to use whole, but cut back like this and used under the normal Latex gloves they work fine. It's really satisfying to see resin marking on the gloves, not your wrists!

The Airshield pressure helmet I use to keep the dust out of my lungs and eyes is partially visible, lower right. An essential piece of kit, slightly cheaper than the original "Airstream" alternative. If it had been designed by a user it would have been wonderful, as it is you get neck muscles like an F.1 driver and ear defenders are essential for long-term use. Much, much better then masks and goggles though.
