Quasar in Carcassonne, post-crash, (1984).
FHR 942W outside the citadel of Carcassonne immediately after going back on the road following some superb running repairs by a local car mechanic, Jean-Pierre LeMoine, after the big crash on the autoroute; ( I ran into a carelessly parked Renault 5, on its roof, in the fast lane, at night – as described briefly, with photos, in the January 1985 edition of BIKE magazine, and at much greater length in the same month's Motorcycle Sport). The French adventure took place in September 1984, starting with the trip to the Bol d'Or 24 hour race at the Paul Ricard circuit near Bandol. PNB
Photographer – can't remember! A friendly passer-by, I think!
This photo was the final image of my 'Ffazed by the Bol' story for Motorcycle Sport, and was used on p.39 of the January 1985 issue, but only in black & white! PNB
