Richard B riding his GW Phasar in 1988

Richard Baughen riding his Gold Wing Phasar up the A3 in February 1988. He recently reminisced: "The Gold Wing Phasar pictured approximately 20 hours after I bought it, on my way into West London on an unfruitful mission to hunt down one P. Blezard. 12 Hours later I was 5 miles outside Coventry with a snapped crankshaft. Exciting introduction to FF ownership. I put a short engine in, swapped the heads over. It weighed 320 kg. I picked it off the sidestand one day and the left handlebar came off in my hand. I rode it home one-handed with the left handlebar held in the appropriate place. I never finished the rewiring, new cables etc that that the change of handlebar caused. I sold it to Barry Warrener from Bradford as a basket case."
Richard has also confirmed that this is the same red machine whose registration number can be seen elsewhere in this folder: "Yes it was JFS 967T I bought it off John Carter. The original owner was Gerald Game. Amazing the bits of paper you keep."
