It's not really a 'steering head' in the traditional sense. no great forks hang off it, or indeed any other form of front suspension. It's just the bearing that the Transverse Arm rotates on, with the base mounts for the top wishbone, all of which will be embedded in a sheet metal structure (coming soon) The bearing packet, showing the part number is included in case anyone else fancies using one of these self-aligning, sealed bearings. FJ's been running one since the mid-Nineties.

Why such a big bearing (30mm) when the steering loads are trivial and even under 1g. braking force, unlikely to exceed 100kgs? The hand control mounts directly onto the transverse arm and will be used to pick the bike up at some point in it's life. That's an overhung load of maybe 250Kgs. The only parts that have ever broken on a Voyager are a steering support (1) and a hand control (1, cracked). Can't have that!
