Yamaha Morphous 250 FF (2006)

vortexau's picture

A new contender (in 2005, for sale in 2006) joins the list of megascooters available as ready-made options for the FF-committed enthusiast:
the 2006 Yamaha Morphous. Not since the launch of the Honda Helix CN250 back in 1986 has such an exciting package been available, in the 250cc sector.

But the Morphous (aka Maxam) is a 21st Century creation benefitting from the experience of what has come before.

Comparable to the Honda, the Yamaha also offers fuel injection, twin-helmet under seat storage, disc brakes front and rear, telescopic forks, and wind-cheating bodywork design. It weighs a hefty 408lbs/185kgs dry but costs a reasonable $5,200 in the USA. It's not an FF

There's a definition. It defines the most inportant single compoent. This hasn't got one.

Also 2006?

Why now?

Happy mid-winter festival to everyone and better new year

It's not a new post (far from it!)

It's not a new post, far from it; it's been viewed here nearly 20,000 times since it first went up on bikeweb in September 2005. it's just been relocated into a new folder of its own because I realised it didn't have one, when someone on the FB FF list posted a photo of one in Cambodia this month, 18 years later..
The Yamaha Morphous/Maxam 250 is not an FF, but it's as close as a Honda Helix CN250, and closer than a standard Tmax, so could easily be modified into full FF-dom.
