Nailed!

Here's a BMW motor that's going nowhere for a while! Always a relief when there's something bolted to the jig bed, level, central and lined up with the chain.

The cast-in swing-arm pivot made this an unusually easy lump to line up. Only a few bolts are on the engine centre-line and it's quite asymetrical in layout, with few obviously horizontal or vertical faces, so it could have been tricky. An F800 rear wheel was used to establish the chain line.

There's a front 'leg', out of the photo, supporting the front of the engine, so it's currently standing on a tripod, the underside of the sump (just) clears the jig bed.
