Sammy Miller on the Norton Kneeler for Top Gear in 1988
Sammy Miller getting a push on the record-breaking 1953 Norton Kneeler at Wroughton, during the Top Gear filming. Top speed: 145mph, 133mph averaged for a whole hour at Montlhéry in November 1953, broke the lap record at the NW200. See the accompanying page for the full set of records. The bike was fitted with both 350 and 500cc Norton Manx single cylinder engines, but even the 500 only made 36bhp. PNB
