Genesis & Slug @ Mallory Park 2023
Ian Pegram's creation, the Burgman 650-based Genesis on display at the 2023 Mallory Bike Bonanza; its first public appearance for more than a decade. On the right, the Malcolm Newell-created 'Slug' powered by a GPz1100 engine behind the rider and with Tait hub centre steering. PNB

Good for a laff...
I'll advertise them in the VMCC mag if the owners fancy it. Only 3% commission. Both unique in the world - say £12 and £20K (It's heritage to boot)?

Sometimes I feel we are let down by the marketing department....
Amen to that
While it's clearly in the nature of marketing depratments everywhere to distort and devalue anything they touch (upset by this? Good), it is maybe worth noting that, under the 40 year rule*. most twentieth century FFs will be hitting peak value this decade, should anyone be thinking of selling theirs. As I'm still using FJ, my only ULEZ compliant (in Bristol) vehicle, it's not currently for sale but when they take my licence away for extreme geriatracy it'll be up there - One owner, Historic, unique in the world - if you want to know the price you can't afford it etc.
As the VMCC is the premier UK sales location for eligable vehicles (minimum 25 years old) it makes complete sense to advertise them there (free to members) although it'll take a while to to catch on. Don't let your unique eaxample of late 20th. Century English innovation languish in your shed, set up your retirement with it, you've earned it!
*The 40 year rule. People value the items they couldn't afford when teenagers. So sixty-year olds value items they wanted when 20. E.g. 'Motorcycles' - 70's English bike prices going down, early 80's Japanese bike prices going up, universally applicable and dependable. FFs made since 1980 now approaching peak value. Don't miss it - all fossil fuel vehicles will eventually be worth about as much as horse drawn carriages - A few perfect, provenance-rich examples, quite a lot, the rest firewood. Or, returning to motorcycles, dusty collections of Triumph twin scrap being toted endlessly round rain-soaked half-deserted autojumbles.
That '40 year rule' ain't just due to nostalgia!
That '40 year rule' ain't just due to nostalgia! It's also the time when old vehicles become tax exempt! And just as important in the Greater London ruled by 'Genghis' Khan, it also makes them exempt from the £12.50 daily ULEZ charge! (Unlike Bristol and Birmingham, any motorcycles younger than 40 but older than a 2008 registration have to pay the charge – and it's the same £12.50 for a 50cc moped as for a 2-tonne van!) PNB
Bristol ULEZ
PTW's are exempt from the Bristol ULEZ. Restricted E-bike/E-scooters may also use special lanes. Of course hordes of entirely unregulated E-scooters and E-bikes that are distinguishable from legal PTWs only by the lack of number plates, lights, licence, insurance, tax, or any appreciation that there rules around using the road, can do exactly what they like.
