9FFs & a 'Bug' in Hastings
Submitted by paulblez on 11-Sep-10 2:32pmMark Verden & his Mk1.5 Quasar in 1988
Submitted by paulblez on 06-Sep-10 12:27pmMark Verden with the 'Mk1.5' Quasar he built in 1987. This machine is a sort of 'missing link' between the original Quasar and Royce Creasey's Voyager and also between Mk1 Reliant-engined Quasars and Mk2 Quasars fitted with non-Reliant engines. It uses a Reliant engine in a Quasar bodyshell but was the first machine to use a Guzzi gearbox and transmission mated to a Reliant motor, as used in the Voyager and also in Mark Crowson's 'Quicka Quasar'. It also has the Bob Tait hub centre steering used in non-Reliant engined Quasars like the Z13 and VF750 Quasar.
Actual Progess
Submitted by pfouche on 28-Aug-10 9:31pmA lot has happened since my last post. The first thing that happened was that I got actual prices for the billet forks. It turns out that CNC is not that much cheaper in Thailand than in Europe. I guess that makes sense as the point of CNC is to remove most of the labour which is the element that is cheaper in Thailand.
After going through the designs with Royce Creasey and faced with an imminent departure from Thailand, I redesigned the forks from 50 x 25 x 3 mm rectangular section steel.

2006: 7 working Quasars at Hastings!
Submitted by paulblez on 24-Aug-10 10:25pmSeptember 2006, on the seafront at St.Leonard's, near Hastings. Still (in 2022) the largest collection of fully operational, road-legal Quasars ever gathered together in one place. Note that they are all Reliant-engined, from the original production machines built in Bristol at Wilson Brothers, or later, at Romarsh in Calne, 1976-1982. However, Mark Crowson's white Quasar is notable for its distinctive and much lighter Dymag wheels.

Genesis vsTmax Seat Heights
Submitted by paulblez on 05-Aug-10 4:57pmBlez in Genesis, Peter Fouché sitting on his standard Mk1 Tmax. This pic shows the difference in seat heights, yet Genesis's 20inch seat height can be lowered by another inch easily by using a thinner seat base. Voyager owner Graham Robb in blue shirt standing and turning round to look at the camera. Colin R and David S next to him, half-hidden. PNB

GoblinFFM
Submitted by Goblin on 11-Jul-10 3:15pmThe aerodynamic feet forward motorcycle that I plan to build, after completing the Manga style body for a client, can be seen here: http://goblinmotors.com/GoblinFFM.jpg
This build will take place in about 8-12 months after completing the body design for the client. The client will have an exact copy of the base feet forward motorcycle. I will retain the motorcycle as payment for the work and send the one-off Manga style body to him for attachment to his motorcycle. You've got to love swapping skill for skill!

49cc feet forward bike lane commuter
Submitted by Goblin on 09-Jul-10 4:28amIt's not painted yet, but my GoblinAero commuter is a blast to drive! It holds 5 bags of groceries and the fairings really make it useful. I am an industrial designer that sculpts and molds my own items.
The video of the GoblinAero can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKyQOJmLttI
I will be sculpting a Japanese Manga style body soon for a friend, then I'll shape up an aerodynamic fairing for my own feet forward motorcycle. I'll post more when that project gets started in a few months.

Soup Run (not FF)
Submitted by Graham Robb on 28-Jun-10 7:27amI like soup. It is a great mid-day pick-up; or a restorative after a long day in the saddle. This year I sampled many euro-soups in our 3000 mile loop through 8 countries. I think it may have been a dubious French soup that upset my intestines for a week after the first night. Nevertheless, from Bouillon to BohnenSuppe and Goulash to Slovenian Jota and Spargeln Creme, we relished in our Gruppe Suppe (Phrase courtesy of Tom, this year’s organiser)
