BMW CE 04 diagram (RHS) 2021

Diagram of the CE 04. This clearly shows how much lower the seat could be if one took away the underseat luggage compartment. Instead of the standard 780mm/30.7in it could be well under 20inches. However, it would probably be a major hassle to move anything behind the compartment, so I suspect one would have to adjust the footboard arrangement in a ComforTmax style, in order to have sufficient FF legroom; see here: http://bikeweb.com/node/473 PNB
Update, 2024: The other key problem, as far as lowering the seat is concerned, is the frame rails on which the standard seat sits. Obviously there would have to be some serious reinforcement of the remaining frame parts if the top rails were cut away...PNB
NB: BMW have strangely mistranslated the term 'electric motor' as 'electrical machine' in the diagram, used in two places.

Thanks BMW, About time. please send sample, CADs. etc.

Nice diagram!

Well there it is. BMW have accidentally, or on purpose, issued an instant FF conversion EV. As Paul says the Comfortmax offers a good example of how to do it and roughly; what it could look like, Obviously staightforward to fit an HCS/Hossack/Saxrack/etc. front end. What fun.

Just a small matter of the £12K. And will Park Lane just sell the bits needed for an FF? They didn't answer my last email, maybe someone (living in London) should visit them, or address them on twittertubefaceagram. I'd like a CAD of that (DWG please...)

The link above doesn't seem to work on this computer, try this? http://bikeweb.com/image/tid/114

Looking at the diagram, maybe one could stack two battery packs in the space....

The biggest part of the project for me would be the front suspension. A front swing arm would make it a sleeker and more useful FF.
