2 Yasa 400 motors and 2 gen 4 size 10 Sevcon controllers
Submitted by David Arthur on 15-Jul-22 5:57pmAs legend these motors were removed from an abandoned project, and we have been told, they have been set up and run on a dyno, unfortunately we have been unable to glean any further information from either Yasa or Sevcon regards these units, and although we have been able to communicate with the controller, are unable to make any adjustments, despite my engineer having vast amounts of experience, on the low voltage Sevcons, without further firmware, he is unable, to go further, and as nothing has been forthcoming from Sevcon, I have decided to sell, preferably in one lot at £7000 plus vat.

Ashwood electric motor, and Sevcon motor available
Submitted by David Arthur on 03-Jun-22 5:11pmOne Ashwood motor, and Sevcon controller, approx 50HP peak, as removed from a low mileage Ford Transit van. I bought this for an FF motorcycle project, but found the wiring was beyond my capacity, and so i just sold the batteries on, and the rest of the stuff was put on a shelf, till i got a better understanding. 5+? years later, i accepted i am still uncomfortable, and so sent it off to an expert, who got it running in 5 mins. I have now gone in a different direction, and with other plans, and so the motor and controller are now surplus, but still located in Bath with Jozztek.

Discovery Canada produced that - they were fun to work with.
Looking forward to a lot more fun (And video) of the next one...

Submitted by Royce on 11-May-22 2:43pmReaders of todays (Wedensday 11th. May) MCN will be presented with photos and a typically fact-free article on the Monoliner track day race prototype I delivered a few years ago. It'll be at the Peterborough show soon apparantly. Identifying the FFs in the FortNine FF video (May 2022)
Submitted by paulblez on 07-May-22 12:42pmThis is a lengthy series of comments and identifications regarding RyanF9's (Ryan Kluftinger's) video on FFs on the FortNine YouTube channel: 'Feet Forward Motorcycles are Technically Better' which was uploaded on 16th April 2022. This one:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uk2ou5gt_94
I’ve watched RyanF9’s FF video a few times now, and there really is a lot of good stuff in it. Amazingly, it was viewed more than a *million* times in just four weeks and 4,607 people had commented on it!
Here's a thing
Submitted by Royce on 28-Apr-22 10:49amAfter scrolling through these thousands of comments it was obvious that a reference to Bikeweb was needed. So using an established Youtube log in I submitted such a reference. Twice. With no result. So props to Blez for getting one in, regrettably without mentioning that this site covers All Ffs, not just the Monotracer. So it's not just 'bikeweb' being censored, there's clearly a trick we've missed there somewhere. Maybe someone will tell us.

More blasts from the past.

FJ walk-round video
Submitted by Royce on 01-Jan-22 3:39pmI should have done this years ago. Would have been better with lighting, camera - and someone who talks proper. Comment if you'd like more (Better than this). It might be useful to builders?

Electric motorised biycyle maker compliments old FF campaigners!
Submitted by Royce on 27-Dec-21 1:20pmImitation, they say, is the sincerest form of flattery, even when the imitators may be unaware, or in denial, about their imitation. So this one is for Charles Neracher, Jack Difazio, and Bob Tait, none regrettably any longer with us, and I am happy to accept this sincere flattery on their behalf.
FOTB returning
Submitted by Graham Robb on 11-Dec-21 8:13amA date for your 2022 diary (Covid permitting) is the weekend of 16/17 July at Mallory Park. This is the return of the FOTB run by the VMCC. It is not perfect, but it does allow us to answer the whatever happened? questions of a few interested potential converts; and it gives us a social weekend / checking our latest harware / remembering who we are. I will apply for the club stand. there will be 10 (person and bike) tickets available - preference given to those with a bike. Let me know if/how you are coming: grahamrobb@aol.com

RIP Frank Williams
Submitted by Royce on 28-Nov-21 5:34pmFrank Williams, F.1 Race Team founder, World manaufacturer champion. In a wheelchair since 1979, has died.
What's this got to do with FFs? Not much, but he taught me to make F.1 cars (for a start) out of lengths of tube, sheets of metal and buckets of plastic. Best boss I ever had. Voyagers exist because of Frank.
The obvious direction of design - 80 years ago...
Submitted by rohorn on 15-Nov-21 5:23amVintagent article on some of the motorcycle related work of Louis Lucien Lepoix. No, his FF ("Moto-Horizontale") never got past the sketch and model stage, but all of the familiar features are there.
The pictures are from the book "50 Jahre technische Ästhetik" - 540 pages! https://www.lepoix-design.com/bestellformular.html
